Explain “Love Winston-Salem (LWS).”
“Love Winston-Salem” is a long term community ministry initiative designed to impact the city of Winston-Salem for the cause of Christ through serving our neighbors.

Are “Love Winston-Salem” and “Mission: Winston-Salem” the same?
No. Think big picture with Love Winston-Salem. Think small picture with Mission: Winston-Salem. LWS is Calvary’s long-term community ministry initiative. One way we hope to engage local Believers in ministry is through Mission: Winston-Salem.

What is “Mission: Winston-Salem?”
For a week in July, we are asking Believers all across to city to take time out of their busy schedules in order to intentionally engage in ministry all over our city. We are calling it a mission trip to Winston-Salem. Our prayer is that this week will act as a springboard for many people to be involved in long-term local ministry.

When does “Love Winston-Salem” end?
Never! LWS reflects a desire for the Church to be actively engaged in local missions from now until Jesus comes back.

What is a “Champion?”
A champion is a lay person who has a heart for connecting the Church with the community. Each champion is actively involved in a specific community ministry or organization he/she represents. Champions act as liaisons between the ministry and the church helping us stay aware of issues related to their ministry as well as ways to get involved in the on-going work of their ministry.

What is “Bring It In?”
Each month, the church commits to bring in items that will benefit a specific ministry or community agency. We feel like collectively we can be a powerful force in providing resources to the community. Through “Bring It In,” we have the opportunity to make the church aware of local needs and give them an easy, tangible way to get involved. Items can be brought to the church and put into the large black “Bring It In” bins located at the entrances of the church.

How do I get involved in the on-going effort of Love Winston-Salem?
Great question! First, pray about where the Lord would have you serve. You can find information on all our partner agencies on the opportunities page. This will give you a better understanding of where you can get involved. Contact the champion of any agency in which you are interested. The champion can help get you connected.
